MORE FROM THE BIG SOUP
In addition to our core services, we offer several professionally led courses for our Service Users.
Each course is carefully selected to offer the participants and excellent opportunity to take part in accredited events to build their self confidence and skills.
The Arts Award is a nationally accredited award for young people aged 25 or under.
Participants take part in arts events or performances, review events as audience members learn about artists (singers, actors, dancers etc) who inspire them, and pass on arts skills to others.
Their work is assessed by our in-house adviser whose assessments are moderated by tutors of Trinity College London.
The award is open to people with a wide range of abilities and participants are encouraged to show how they have progressed and to build on their developing skills.
The Big Soup Theatre Group Ltd is working closely with external tutors from WEA to offer the chance for service users to participate in fully accredited part-time courses.
Courses currently running at The Big Soup include Healthy Relationships, Healthy Eating Choices and Psychomotricity.
These weekly courses are run by external tutors and are open to groups of about 12 people.
Service users who complete the course will be awarded a certificate.
Indian Head Massage
Twice a week we are visited by a trained massage therapist who runs head and back massage sessions.
Service users are encouraged to take part in these sessions and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of giving and receiving a massage.
This activity, as well as being very relaxing, encourages service users to work together in a group.
These sessions also give a chance for service users to demonstrate their massage techniques.
As well as Indian Head Massage, Jeanette also provides a foot massage services as well.
